Pittstown- Amy Louise (Brundige) Roden, 60, a lifelong resident of Pittstown, died suddenly Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, with her family by her side, after being stricken early Saturday morning.

Born in Troy, October 23, 1965, Amy was the beloved daughter of the late George S. and Kathleen M. “Kay” (Hayden) Brundige and for several years the wife of Stephen Roden of Brunswick, with whom she shares four beautiful children.

Amy attended Parker School in Pittstown and was a graduate of Tamarac High School.

For any one who knew Amy’s love of children, it came as no surprise that for many years she was employed as a daycare worker and teacher’s assistant working most recently at Unity House’s “A Child’s Place Daycare” in Troy. She additionally had a unique gift, that she shared with her parents, to engage people in conversation and was also employed for a time as a Greeter and Credit Retail Clerk at the Kohl’s Department Store in Clifton Park.

Amy was a communicant, Eucharistic Minister and Sunday School teacher at the former St. George Roman Catholic Church in Pittstown and more recently participated in her faithful worship at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Sycaway. She enjoyed introducing young people to God in a fun and relaxed way and was a Vacation Bible School teacher with the former Pittstown Five Church’s VBS program.
She was a terrific cook and loved to prepare large meals to share with her family and friends, most notably, large pans of Ziti and huge desserts. She was a “crazy cat lady” who loved her pets, enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with her family and friends and was known to be Yappy, as her children would call her, because of her ability to extend conversations and all her laughter when visiting.

Amy is survived by her four children, Benjamin C. Roden (Katherine S. Buckley) of Buskirk, Timothy S. Roden (Sharleen Buel) of Clarksville, Matthew G. Roden of Pittstown and Grace E. Roden and Anthony F. Giminiani of Raymertown, four much loved grandchildren, Sara M. Roden, James C. Buckley, and Jude and Aria Buel, brothers and sisters, Fran Brundige (Claudia Lohnes), Ronald Brundige, Eileen Brock (Bill), Patricia Hubbard, (Daniel), Kevin Brundige (Margaret), George Brundige (Melissa), Mary Sestito (John), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother and a sister, the late Gary Brundige and Jean Falzo.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at Brundige Hall, in the Pittstown Emergency Corps Building, 60 Parker School Road, in Pittstown, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. A memorial service for Amy will be held at 6:00 P.M. at the Hall with a light reception for family and friends to follow. Burial will be held later this Spring at the convenience of the family at Norton Cemetery in Pittstown.

At the request of Amy’s family, memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps., 60 Parker School Road, Johnsonville, NY 12094 in memory of Amy L. (Brundige) Roden.
