
Pittstown- Catherine “Kay” Hagadorn, 94, formerly of Boyntonville and more recently Pittstown, died peacefully Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side, following a brief illness.
Born in the Town of Hoosick on July 31, 1930, Kay was the daughter of the late Doty and Mary Polhemus Sr., the wife of the late George Borter, and more recently, for many years, the wife of the late Clarence “Hag” Hagadorn.
Kay was a member of the Pittstown United Methodist Church and one of the “Kitchen Ladies” at many of the church’s rummage sales.
Since her retirement years ago as a production worker at the Tambrand Company in Claremont, NH, Kay, who was an excellent baker, filled her time with cooking for her family and friends, working in her many flower gardens, hosting barn sales, and according to her family, collecting every type of knickknack under the sun, with which she decorated her home.
Kay is survived by her devoted daughter, Mary Edelmann of Pittstown, a brother, Eugene Polhemus of Chatham, her beloved grandchildren, Eric Limoges (Laurie) of Walpole, NH, Stephen Limoges (Kim) of Alstead, NH, Timothy Edelmann (Jillian) of Grafton, Patricia O’Connor (Kenneth) of Red Hook, Heidi Edelmann Bacon (Mike) of Hoosick, and Robin Doptis (Dan) of Pittstown; her cherished great-grandchildren, Emmalee, Erinn, Nicole, K.C., Koster, Emma, Molly, Lily, Maverick and Jack, and one great-great-grandchild, Dallace, and many close friends. In addition to her parents, Kay was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Limoges, her siblings, Doty Polhemus Jr., Harold Polhemus, Leslie Polhemus, and Eleanor Quigley, and her much loved son-in-law, the late Clark Edelmann.
A funeral service for Kay will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 New York Route 7, located in Raymertown. Burial will follow in Warren Cemetery in Boyntonville. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. prior to the service.
