
Pittstown- Charlotte Marie (Weeden) Spain, 74, formerly of Brunswick and more recently Pittstown, died peacefully, Saturday, May 31, 2025 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side, following a short illness.
Born in Troy, March 5, 1951, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Phyllis Weeden and the wife of the late Donald D. Spain who predeceased her March 13, 2020.
Charlotte was a graduate of Tamarac High School.
For more than 20 years she was employed as a Court Clerk by the City of Troy.
Charlotte enjoyed fishing with her late husband, Don, going on vacation cruises, crocheting, and watching American Idol on the television. However her most favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren putting together jigsaw puzzles and catching up with them about what was happening in their lives.
Charlotte is survived by her three children, Stephanie Reiser of Pittstown, Shawn Hunt Sr. of Pittstown and Jebediah and Brandy Hunt of Georgia, seven grandchildren, Erik “Dewey” Reiser II, Walter Reiser, Shawn Hunt Jr., Taylor Hunt, Rielly Hunt, Tylor Hunt and Aidan Hunt, a brother, Rupert Smith and a sister, Loren Kraft, and several nieces and nephews and many cousins. In addition to her husband, Don, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Erik W. Reiser Sr. and two brothers, Bart Smith and Darryl Smith.
A memorial service for Charlotte will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 New York Route 7, located in Raymertown. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps., (PVEC) 60 Parker School Road, Johnsonville, New York 12094 in memory of Charlotte M. (Weeden) Spain.
