Eric Holbritter, 57, of Hoosick Falls, New York, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of May 18, 2026. Eric was born September 24, 1968 to Ronald Holbritter and Sandra Staude-Harrington, and was raised with deep love and devotion by Leighton and Sylvia Holbritter on their family farm in Pittstown, NY. A supportive community of hardworking people including the Campbell family, and Dick Holbritter, among many others, poured love into Eric as he grew up, and shaped the man he would become. When reflecting on his upbringing, Eric would always say he had the absolute best childhood. From the start, days started before the sun came up, whether it was to milk cows or go hunting.
Eric would continue to work before and after each school day at Hoosic Valley, where he would later graduate with his high school diploma. For as hard as Eric worked, there was certainly no lack of play. Introduced to racecars by his father Ron, Eric was a fan of racing and all things fast. Whether at Lebanon Valley or Nortonville Road, Eric lived every moment at top speed. Alongside his brothers and dearest friends, Eric chased every possible victory, whether it was a wrestling match, being the life of the party, or loading the hammer, he had to be the best at everything.
Eric met his match in 1994, racing into a marriage to Molly Moran, without a single doubt she was the one worth slowing down for. With their son Jacob already in tow, they went on to have two beautiful girls, Reilly and Jacquelyn. His life was not yet complete, until 2001, when he had his last child Leighton, with whom he would share an unbreakable and one of a kind bond.
With his family always at the forefront, Eric worked tirelessly to build a life many only dream of. In 2006, Eric finally found the farm he would turn into his legacy in Hoosick Falls, NY. Together, Molly and Eric built Pine Valley Home, where they blessed many families as they cared for their loved ones as if they were their own. At the same time, Eric continued sharing his talents with hardscaping, landscaping, carpentry and stone work, with the community around him.
If Eric loved something, he took it to the next level. Whether it was building a dirtbike track, an archery course, fantasy football league, basketball court, hunting and golf trips, or highly detailed diecast collectibles, he brought joy to those around him with his endless talents (or sasquatch expertise).
Eric is survived by his wife, Molly Holbritter; his children, Jacob (Michele) Ryan, Reilly (Andrew) Schug, Jacquelyn (Bradley) Holbritter, and his #1, Leighton Holbritter. He is also survived by his newest and greatest joy, grandchildren, Emma & Gavin Ryan.
Eric is also survived by his siblings, Brian (Susan), Aaron, and Jesse Holbritter and Adam, Seth, and Melissa Harrington; Father-In-Law Thomas Moran; Sister-In-Law Margaret Moran; and several nieces and nephews. Eric was predeceased by his Father Ronald Holbritter; Mother Sandra Harrington; Mother-In-Law Grace Moran Ryan; Father-In-Law Joseph Ryan; and Brother-In-Law Thomas Moran Jr.
A memorial will be held for Eric at the Holbritter Family Home, in Hoosick Falls, NY on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Calling Hours will be from 3:00-5:00PM, with services and gathering to follow. All are welcome.
