Albany-Kimberley Sylvia (Freemantle) Mitchell, 68, formerly of Pittstown and more recently Valatie, died peacefully Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Hudson Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany with her loving family by her side, following a long illness.
Born in Troy September 17, 1957, Kim was the daughter of the late Millard and Sylvia (Ketcham) Freemantle and, for over 34 years, the devoted wife of the late Robert Mitchell, who predeceased her on January 14, 2026.
As a girl, Kim attended Parker School in Pittstown and graduated from Tamarac High School, Class of 1975.
On April 20, 1991, she married Rob and moved with him to his family farm in Valatie. On the farm, in addition to being a homemaker, she assisted with raising the animals, light farm chores, and gardening. Known for her kindness and compassion to all, Kim enjoyed reading and music, and loved her pet dogs. Above all else, Kim loved spending time with her husband and family and living a life of faith to her Lord, Jesus.
Kim is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Blaine and Beverly Freemantle and Lester Fremantle, all of Pittstown, three nieces and a nephew, Diana (Dan) McIntyre, Valerie Freemantle, Cassie (Peter) Foust, and Tyler Freemantle, and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, the late Dighton Freemantle.
The Freemantle and Mitchell families would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Hudson Park for their excellent treatment, support, and love while she was under their care.
At Kim’s request, there will be no public calling and she will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the convenience of her family.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Pittstown United Methodist Church, 39 Old Route 7, Valley Falls, NY 12185.
