Pittstown- Mary “Madeline” (McDermott) LeBarron, 88, died peacefully Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in the comfort of her longtime Pittstown residence following a short illness.
Born in Troy, September 23, 1935, Madeline was the daughter of the late William and Celia (Smith) McDermott Sr. and for many years the devoted wife of the late John B. LeBarron who predeceased her on July 7, 2013.
Madeline attended Troy High School and as a young woman was employed for 9 years as a production worker at the Behr Manning plant in Watervliet prior to her marriage to John in 1965. Since, she has been a homemaker who enjoyed raising her children and caring for her husband and home.
Madeline was a faithful communicant of the former St. George Catholic Church in Pittstown where she served on the Rosary Altar Guild. More recently she has been an active member of Our Lady of Victory Parish in Sycaway.
She was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pittstown Volunteer Fire Company, a Life Member of the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps., the Home Bureau and Town of Pittstown Seniors. In her quiet time she loved to play Bingo and card games and enjoyed sitting in her Gazebo and being in her pool.
Madeline is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John “Jay” and Julie LeBarron of Pittstown and a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary LeBarron and Matthew Pomeroy of Grafton, a brother, Larry McDermott of Pittstown, five grandchildren, Alex, Alivia, Ryan, Matt, and Tim, two great-granddaughters, Emily and Caitlynn and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Kevin LeBarron, a sister and two brothers, Carolyn Wein, William McDermott and John McDermott and her best friend and cousin, Kathleen Cure.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Howard B. Tate and Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY Route 7, located in Raymertown on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral service on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 9:30 a.m from the funeral home thence to a Mass of Christian Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Sycaway celebrated by Fr. Tom Morrett. Burial will follow in St, Mary’s Cemtery in Troy.
