Troy- Michael John Sullivan Sr., 43, formerly of Troy and more recently of Kingsport, Tennessee, died Saturday, December 28, 2024, following a short illness.
Born in Troy, April 14, 1981, Mike was the beloved son of the late Joan A. (Brenenstuhl) Sullivan and David J. Sullivan of Schenectady, who survives.
Mike was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and has since led a life filled with adventures that included his passions of cooking, traveling, hiking, and kayaking.
Mike was also an avid volunteer, dedicating his time as a volunteer firefighter and, most recently, contributing to the clean-up efforts of hurricane Helene.
Above all else, Mike held precious the time spent with his family, his friends, and his dogs, Bailey and Milo, who helped comfort him in difficult times.
Mike is survived by his son, Michael J. Sullivan Jr., his father and stepmother, David and Marion Sullivan, his sister and brother-in-law, Tracy and Mike Bub, a step-sister and brother-in-law, Jen and Alan Satin, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held later this spring. Burial will follow in the family plot located in Hillside Cemetery in Raymertown.
Contributions in memory of his volunteer service, if desired, may be made to your local volunteer fire company in memory of Michael J. Sullivan Sr.
