Pittstown- Tamara Dee “Tamie” Ali, 54, of Lakeshore Drive, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 9, 2025 with her family at her side. Born in Troy, Tamie was the daughter of Ruth (Schermerhorn) Carroll of Pittstown and the late John Carroll, and the beloved wife of Thomas D. Ali. Tamie was a lifelong resident of Lakeshore Drive in Raymertown and a 1989 graduate of Tamarac High School.  Tamie and Tom married in 1996 and when her children were born, she became a stay-at-home mom and raised her boys. Tamie was active with the boy’s activities which included music and sports. As the boys grew, she went back to the work force and was employed in the food services at the Brittonkill Central School District. Tamie did some traveling and enjoyed Music and attending Bluegrass Festivals. She was a lover of animals and had taken in many cats and dogs over her lifetime giving them a loving home in which to live.

Survivors in addition to her husband and mother, include her sons Jacob John and Chase Christopher of Pittstown and Maxon Thomas of Oswego, NY, her sister, Pam (Karl) Schonheinz of Wilton, her brother Shawn Carroll of Pittstown and nephews Caleb and Carter Schonheinz.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 8:30-10:15 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the Transfiguration Church North Site, 17 S. Main St. Schaghticoke, NY.   A Mass of Christian Resurrection for Tamie will be celebrated at 10:30. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Schaghticoke.

Friends and family are welcome to Tom and Tamie’s home following the services to share love and laughter.

Because of Tamie’s love for animals, donations in her memory may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
