Pittstown- Wendy A. (Grogan) Taurone, 68, a longtime resident of Pittstown, died peacefully Sunday, January 18, 2026, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side, following a long illness.
Born in Troy June 11, 1957, Wendy was the daughter of the late William and Patricia (Towne) Grogan Sr.and, for over 48 years, the wife and best friend of Michael A. Taurone, who predeceased her on October 4, 2021.
Wendy was a graduate of Hoosick Falls High School.
Following her marriage to Michael on March 4, 1978, Wendy was employed for several years as a nurse’s aide at the former Woodland Village Nursing Home in Troy. As she began her family, she retired and became a stay-at-home mother and a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook, who enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and was known for her specialties of ziti and homemade pierogies.
Among her favorite pastimes, in addition to creating good hearty meals, she enjoyed the handcrafts of knitting and crochet, loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, and relaxing with her pet cats.
Wendy is survived by her daughter and three sons, Patricia Vaughn of Pittstown, William Taurone of Troy, Anthony Taurone of Cohoes, and Michael Parich of Colorado, sister, Vonda Grogan, two brothers, William Grogan Jr. and Heath Grogan, seven grandchildren, Devon, Cassie, Domanick, Alexander, Elexius, Joseph, and Gracesin, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Private funeral services under the direction of the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc. will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps. (PVEC), 60 Parker School Road, Johnsonville, NY 12094, in memory of Wendy A. Taurone.
