Easton, NY - Albert M. Donlon, 90, a 30-year resident of Easton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, NY, following a long illness.
Born in Avon, Connecticut, May 28, 1933, Albert was the son of the late Martin and Mary (Collins) Donlon. He was the loving husband to Carol (Tillson) Donlon for 67 years and the father of Timothy (Deborah) Donlon of Greenwich, NY, Eileen (Daniel) Arenson of Lords Valley, PA, and Lynda (Timothy) Holt of Pittstown, NY, and the grandfather of Jacob and Nathan Holt, Melanie Donlon, and Myles, Rylee, and Allyson Arenson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Albert attended and graduated from Suffield High School, CT, and served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict on the battleship USS Midway. When his service to his country was completed, he attended The New England Technical Institute of Connecticut to learn to repair computers.
For many years he lived with his family in Burlington, CT, and worked for Univac as a field engineer. He relocated with his family in 1981 to Brunswick, NY, to continue his work at Univac (later known as Unisys) and worked there until he retired in 1992.
After his retirement, he and Carol relocated to Easton, NY, where they made their home and Albert enjoyed being a gentleman farmer.
In his quiet time, Albert enjoyed watching and discussing his favorite sports teams--the Red Sox, Patriots, and the Celtics, working his farm, riding and tinkering with his tractors, and spending time with his family.
A Memorial Mass for Mr. Donlon will be celebrated at the Notre Dame Visitation Parish in Schuylerville, NY, in April. There will be no public calling, and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Easton Volunteer EMS in memory of Albert M. Donlon by visiting https://eastonems.com/about-us/donate/
The family would like to thank his many dedicated caregivers at DCI, Rubin Dialysis Center in Clifton Park, NY, as well as the drivers from LINK, Peter Healy, and Sara Casey.
Funeral service details are under the direction of the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY Route 7, Raymertown, NY 12180.
