North Greenbush- Anna Elizabeth “Ann” (Valoze) Bornt, 81, a longtime resident of Cooksboro (Town of Pittstown) died peacefully and left us for heaven, Monday, April 22, 2024 at the Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Greenbush following a long illness.
Born in Troy, December 14, 1942, Ann was the daughter of the late John and Carmela (Capuano) Valoze and for over 57 years the beloved wife of Kenneth A. Bornt of Cooksboro. Ann and Ken were married April 23, 1966.
Ann attended Troy High School and was a member of the first graduating class of the then brand-new Tamarac High School.
Following an incredibly exciting time in her life including her marriage to Kenneth, establishing her home, and starting her family, Ann took a position as a data entry operator with New York State Office of Mental Health and Retardation in Menands. While there she made many friends among her work family and retired after more than 23 years of service.
Ann enjoyed traveling with her family to the coast of Maine, especially York Beach and Ogunquit, and also to Arizona and Colorado to visit siblings. In addition to caring for her family and home her many hobbies included playing Canasta, sewing, crafting and planting flowers in her front yard. Of all her hobbies and pastimes, her most favorite was spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart and was so very proud.
Ann is survived by her husband, Ken, three daughters and sons-in-law, Tracey and John Whalen of Selkirk, Terry and Greg De Noyer of Webster, FL and Tana and Steven LeBlanc of Brunswick, a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Kjar Valoze, four beloved grandchildren, Kaitlin Washburn, John Whalen, Clayton LeBlanc and Jessica LeBlanc, a great-grandson, J.T. Washburn and a niece, Deb (John) Smith of Colorado. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, John (Jack) Valoze, Jerry Valoze, Lucy Pollock and Louise Valoze.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 1,2024 from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. at the Howard B. Tate and Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY Route 7, located in Raymertown. A funeral service for Ann at 12:30 p.m. will be followed by committal prayers and burial at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Veterans Cemetery in Schuylerville at 2:30 p.m.
