Pittstown-Cheryl A. (Goman) Wilber, 74, a longtime resident of Pittstown and more recently Hoosick Falls, died peacefully Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, following a long illness.
Born in Troy, Mrs. Wilber was the daughter of the late John and Ann Goman and, for over 48 years, the devoted wife of the late Delbert H. “Del” Wilber, who predeceased her March 15, 2017. Mr. and Mrs. Wilber were married on March 29, 1969.
After graduating from Troy High School and her marriage to Del, the couple made their home in Valley Falls and later settled in Pittstown. After raising her family, she entered the workforce, taking a position as a clerk and cashier for Cumberland Farms, working at the Lansingburgh store. After more than 10 years of service, she retired in 2014.
Mrs. Wilber was a member of the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Senior Center in Hoosick Falls and spending time with her husband coloring to assist with her fine motor skills and to relax. Mrs. Wilber was an outstanding cook and made the most delicious dressing at Thanksgiving time that her family would rave about.
Mrs. Wilber is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Raymond Lovely, and a son and daughter-in-law, Michael R. Wilber and Holly Connors, all of Pittstown, three grandchildren, Matthew Palmer, Ashley Elizabeth Lovely, and Jeanette Wilber, two great-grandchildren, Harper Wilber and Noah Wilber, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Wilber was predeceased by a sister and two brothers.
A private funeral service for Mrs. Wilber will be held at the convenience of her family at the Howard B. Tate and Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY Route 7, located in Raymertown. There will be no public calling.
