
Colonie- Clara E. LeBarron, 79, formerly of Hoosick Falls and a longtime resident of Albany, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a long illness.
Born in Troy, June 20, 1943, Clara was the daughter of the late Clayton E. and Elsie M. (Gifford) LeBarron and the longtime best friend and companion of James Kirk of Ohio, who survives.
She was a graduate of Hoosick Falls High School, Class of 1961, and for more than 30 years employed as a clerk by the New York State Department of Education in Albany. She retired in 2010.
Clara was a devoted Christian and attended church regularly. She participated in and supported many activities sponsored by the church to assist her community. She loved dining out with Jim and her family and in retirement enjoyed traveling. Although Clara never earned a driver’s license, she could easily manage the Albany bus routes to get anywhere in the city she wanted to go and arrive ahead of time. Among her most favorite pastimes was watching TV, and attending the annual LeBarron Family Reunion.
Clara is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Jerry Tate of Hoosick Falls, a brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Claudia LeBarron of Raleigh, NC, a brother-in-law, Grant Taylor, and a sister-in-law, Fran LeBarron, several nieces and nephews, many cousins, and a special friend and caregiver, Debbie Mastrianni. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Ronald Phelps, her sister, Sandra Taylor, and her brother, Dennis LeBarron.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May, 11, 2023, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY Route 7, located in Raymertown. A funeral service for Clara will follow at the funeral home at noon. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
