Tampa, FL- Dale Joseph Morgan, 58, formerly of Brunswick and more recently Tampa, Florida, died Monday, April 11, 2016, at the Melech Hospice in Temple Terrace, Florida.
Born December 9, 1957, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, Dale was the son of Calvin Morgan of Brunswick and the late Sydney Ann (Marcellus) Morgan-Overocker.
Dale was raised in the local area and attended schools at Hoosic Valley Central, Tamarac High School, Catholic Central High School and graduated from Mechanicville High School with the Class of 1977. While in high school, Dale was an outstanding athlete and played both varsity football and baseball.
After graduation, Dale traveled around the country and worked in the construction trades. In his adult life, he worked as a carpenter and steelworker in Newman, Georgia, where he met and married his former wife, Deborah, on May 9, 1981. He later established and operated his own sheetrock and drywall business also in Newman before relocating to Tampa in the mid 1980’s and working for several construction firms there.
Dale is survived by a son, Gregory Morgan of Newman, GA, his father and step-mother, Calvin and Jane Morgan of Brunswick, NY, a brother, Michael Morgan of Eliot, ME, a sister, Lisa Morgan of Denver, CO, his former wife, Deborah Ann Beachboard of Newman, GA, and aunts and uncles, William Morgan of Melrose, NY, Alvie and Earl Marcellus and Avis Marcellus Hill. In addition to his late mother, Dale was predeceased by several aunts and uncles.
A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 New York Route 7, located in Raymertown. Burial will follow in Hoosick Rural Cemetery in Hoosick, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, from noon until 1:00P.M. prior to the prayer service.
