Babcock Lake – Donna M. (Foster) Brock, 75, of Babcock Lake died peacefully Friday, April 29, 2022, in the comfort of her home overlooking the lake with her family by her side following a short illness.
Born in Troy February 3, 1947, Donna is the daughter of the late Durwood and Lillian (Seymour) Foster and, for over 53 years, the wife and best friend of Charles E. Brock of Babcock Lake, who survives.
Donna was a graduate of Hoosic Valley High School and attended cosmetology school in Troy, where she earned a license as a hairdresser.
Most recently, she was employed as a school bus driver by the Hoosic Valley School District, where she enjoyed transporting her students safely to and from school each day. After more than 15 years of service, she retired in 2012.
Among Donna’s favorite pastimes were reading, baking, crafting, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and floating in the lake with Charlie at the end of a long day.
Donna is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Terrie and Aaron Springer of Hoosick Falls and Brenda and Donald Taber of Eagle Bridge, three granddaughters, Lois Springer, Erin Springer, and Brooke Taber, two great-grandchildren, Blake and Javery, two brothers, Gene Foster and Donald Foster, a sister, Linda Vogt, and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert Foster.
At Donna’s request, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at the Babcock Lake Community Center. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the community center from 3:00-6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
