Troy- Elizabeth M. “Pete” (Wiegner) Breault, 95, a longtime resident of Brunswick and more recently Troy, died peacefully Tuesday, January 30, 2024, following a short illness.
Born in Troy January 10, 1929, and raised on her family’s Brunswick farm, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Marie (Hare) Wiegner.
After attending the local district school, Elizabeth graduated from Troy High School and earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Russell Sage College.
For many years, Elizabeth was employed by the State of New York as an administrator at the Department of Transportation offices in Albany. After more than 20 years of service, she retired in 1996.
Elizabeth was a lifelong member of the Brunswick Church and sang in the church choir. She loved dancing, baking, traveling, family gatherings, and was a master gardener.
Elizabeth is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Breault of Watervliet and Dawn Breault of Eagle Mills, a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Breault of Cambridge, a sister and a brother, Nancy Wiegner of Florida and Bill Wiegner of Vermont, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two sons, Michael Breault and John Breault, two brothers, John W. Wiegner and Richard W. Wiegner and a daughter-in-law, Deb Swedick.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 1:00-2:45 p.m. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY Route 7, located in Raymertown. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Bill Henderson of the Brunswick Church will follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be held later this spring at Brookside Cemetery in Brunswick at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, at the request of the family, may be made to the Brunswick Church, 42 White Church Lane, Troy, NY 12180, in memory of Elizabeth M. Breault.
