Greenwich - Florence W. (Weatherwax) Wilson-Fish, a longtime resident of Brunswick and more recently Greenwich, died peacefully, Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the Slate Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Granville, following a long illness.
Born in Greenwich, March 2, 1936, Florence was the daughter of the late John H. and Julia (Bentley) Weatherwax and the wife of the late Raymond Wilson and late Harold Fish.
Florence was raised in Greenwich, attended the local district school and was a graduate of Greenwich High School.
After her marriage to Ray she was a homemaker in Brunswick for many years where the couple raised their family. After his passing she relocated to Greenwich where she lived for the past ten years, married Harold and lived quietly together until his passing several years ago.
Florence was a member of the Center Brunswick United Methodist Church and in her quiet time, enjoyed the hobbies of gardening, cooking, spending time caring for her family and grandchildren.
Florence is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith A. and Sherry Wilson Sr. and Raymond and Kathy Wilson Jr. all of Brunswick, five grandchildren, Peter, Matthew, Sarah, Joshua and Jennifer, a sister-in-law, Velma Wilson of Brunswick and nieces and nephews, Cindy, Scott, Wayne and Shirley. In addition to her late husbands and brother-in-law, Ron, Florence was predeceased by a daughter, Janet Wilson and a grandson, Keith A. Wilson Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside ceremony for Mrs. Wilson to be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Elmwood Cemetery in Schaghticoke. At Florence’s request there will be no public visitation.
Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Florence W. Wilson-Fish.
