Tomhannock- Gladys Isabele (Quidgeon) Brundige, 97, a Mohegan Tribal Member and Elder, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, April 15, 2023, with her family by her side. She soared to her eternal home on eagle’s wings, where she was greeted by many she loved and missed dearly.
Gladys was born on June 25, 1925, in Pittstown to the late Earl Winslow Quidgeon Sr. and Gladys Mary Jane Hass and was the wife of the late Richard Gordon Brundige Sr. She was also predeceased by her children, John, Mary, Richard, and Charles, and brothers, Lawrence, John, Chuck, Earl, Ernest, Robert, Harold, and William.
She is survived by her children, Audrey (Ike) Wood, Patricia (late Michael Coughtry) Erwood Brundige, Gary Brundige, Carol Brundige, and Donald (Rachel) Brundige. She was a grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren that she loved dearly. She is also survived by her siblings, Donald, Winnifred, Joseph, and Gertude.
Gladys had a great love of her native heritage, her family, her three pups, and playing bingo and the slots!
A celebration of Gladys’ life gathering and reception will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Burial will be held in the Tomhannock Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps., 60 Parker School Road, Johnsonville, NY 12094, in memory of Gladys I. Brundige.
