Pittstown- Helen I. (Amidon) Noyes, a longtime resident of Valley Falls, died peacefully at Samaritan Hospital in Troy on January, 6, 2023, following a long illness.
Born in Berlin, Helen was the daughter of the late Delmar and Mildred (Lackey) Amidon.
Helen worked for many years at Scriven Duplicating Company in Speigletown and retired in 2005. After retirement, Helen was an avid card player, and enjoyed tending her flower gardens, jigsaw puzzles, and word puzzle books. Most of all, Helen enjoyed time spent surrounded by her family and friends.
Helen is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Harrington, Lisa Bruns (Frank Durkee), and Tina Bruns, a daughter-in-law, Pamela Noyes, a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Jean Michaels, five grandchildren, Christopher Noyes, Justin Harrington, Melissa (Joel) Butchino, Sarah Harrington (Shannon Burnell), and Emily Durkee, and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and late husband, Carl Noyes, Helen was predeceased by two sons, Kurt Noyes and Neil Noyes, and sisters, Vivian Millard, Virginia Amidon, Stella Schonhaut, and Jo Ann Kellar.
A memorial service for Helen will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the Howard B. Tate and Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 New York Route 7, located in Raymertown. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial for Helen will be private at the convenience of her family.
