Brunswick- Jean Caroll (Pollock) Perkins, 76 of Brunswick, passed away peacefully at her Cooksboro Road home surrounded by her loving family, January 7, 2017.
Born in Troy, December 26, 1940, Jean was the daughter of the late Frank and Marjorie (Newcomb) Pollock and for over 51 years the loving wife of devoted husband, Robert W. Perkins of Brunswick who survives. Jean and Bob were married on October 24, 1965.
After attending Troy High School, she graduated from the Troy School of Beauty Culture graduating in 1961. She was a self employed hairdresser for over 43 years working most of that time from a beauty shop in her Eagle Mills home. Her three daughters enjoyed helping her with her daily beauty shop duties. Jean and her husband enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, many years of motorcycling, camping, boating and watching every NY Yankees game on television. Jean also took great joy in attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events. She supported her community by feverishly knitting winter hats that were then provided not only to her children, grandchildren and extended family, but to many local area youth, through the Troy Area YMCA and multiple local churches.
Jean was a lifelong member of the Brunswick Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband, Bob, she is survived by her three daughters, Marjorie Raymond (Adam), Lori Kelly (Gary) and Lisa Doring (Thomas), a brother, Phillip Pollock (Marie), four grandchildren, Kiersten Raymond (Kyle), Evan Kelly, Cameron Kelly and Ryan Doring, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at the Brunswick Presbyterian Church with Rev. Elizabeth Chen-O’Connor officiating.
