Troy- Jessie M. (Sheffer) Beaudoin, 87, a longtime resident of Johnsonville and more recently Troy, died peacefully Thursday, December 10, 2020 at The Eddy Heritage House following a short illness.
Born in Troy, May 16, 1933, Mrs. Beaudoin was the daughter of the late Ralph and Stella (Akin) Sheffer and for over 58 years the wife of the late Joseph C. Beaudoin Sr. who predeceased her in 2014.
Mrs. Beaudoin was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School.
In addition to caring for her husband and raising her six children in her Johnsonville home, she was employed as a housekeeper at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. After more than 32 years of service she retired in 1998.
Mrs. Beaudoin’s favorite past times were shopping and camping with family and friends and accompanying Joe Sr. on his Indian motorcycle in Summer and his snowmobile in Winter.
Mrs. Beaudoin is survived by five children, Joseph C. and Sue Beaudoin Jr, of Brunswick, Joyce Cooke and Jerry of Watervliet, Marjorie and Edward Fredericks of Ballston Spa, Lori Loya of Melrose and Kevin and Joan Beaudoin of Clifton Park, seven grandchildren, Joseph, Patrick, “C.J.” Christopher, Tiffany, Amanda, Brittany and Laura, six great-grandchildren, a brother, Vernon Akin of Melrose and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, the late Robert J. Beaudoin.
A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY-7, located in Raymertown. Burial will follow at the Saratoga National Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7:00 p.m. NYS Health Dept. COVID-19 guidelines for social distancing, face masks and occupancy limits will be observed.
Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Johnsonville Volunteer Fire Company, 5 River Road, Johnsonville, NY 12094 in memory of Mrs. Jessie M. Beaudoin.
