Brunswick- John W. “Jack” Burdick Jr., a lifelong resident of Town of Brunswick, died suddenly, Monday, August 29, 2022 at his Center Brunswick home following a short illness.
Born in the Troy, December 21, 1945, Jack was the son of the late John W. and Grace E. (Halliday) Burdick Sr.
Jack was a graduate of Tamarac High School and a veteran of the United States Navy.
For over 42 years, he was employed by the Lydall-Manning Company in Green Island. After starting as a production worker and later as a stock clerk, he worked his way through the ranks and earned the position of Inventory Control Specialist at the time of his retirement in 2013.
For several years he was a member of the Center Brunswick United Methodist Church. Among Jacks many pastimes, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, getting his daily cup of coffee and people watching at the Center Brunswick Stewart’s Shop and watching television.
Mr. Burdick is survived by a son, Michael Burdick of Troy and a daughter Tammy Burdick and her fiancé, William Freelove both of Brunswick, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lee and Jack Driscoll of Latham and Pam and Charles Burkhart of Speigletown, three grandchildren, Kyle Burdick of Greenville, and Scott E. Burdick and Steven B. Burdick both of Brunswick and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a daughter, the late Christine Marie Burdick who predeceased him in 2001.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Center Brunswick United Methodist Church from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. A memorial service for Jack will follow at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Joel Holcomb. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
