Brunswick- Joyce E. (Reckner) Foster, 82, a long time resident of White Church Lane, died peacefully, Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush, following a long illness.
Born in Wynantskill, February 5, 1934, Joyce was the daughter of the late Leslie G. and Gertrude M. (Shoemaker) Reckner and the wife for over 50 years of the late Robert E. Foster formerly of Brunswick who predeceased her in 2014.
Mrs. Foster was a graduate of Troy High School.
For many years she was a homemaker caring for her husband and children and was employed as a food prep worker and cashier at RPI in Troy by the Marriott Food Service Company. After many years of service she retired in the early 1990’s.
Mrs. Foster was a member of the White Church in Brunswick, the Brunswick Home Bureau and enjoyed sewing and many types of crafts. Before retiring and after, Joyce and Bob could always be found at many Tamarac High School sporting events, rooting for and in support of their children, grandchildren and the “home team.”
Mrs. Foster is survived by her children, Richard Foster and fiancée, Jennifer Duncan of Troy, Randy and Randy Foster of Brunswick, Scott Foster of Fairbanks, Alaska and Cynthia and Chris Long of Washington Court House, Ohio, eight grandchildren, Daniel, Jeanine, Ryan, Ashley, Colton, Marisa, Garett and Taylor, three great-grandchildren, Austin, Kylie and Christopher and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Doris Mortimer and Diane Stannard, a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Foster, and a granddaughter, Amber Foster.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY Route 7, located in Raymertown with Rev. Dr. Scott DeBlock officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00-3:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service. Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, in Brookside Cemetery in Brunswick.
