Pittstown- Marion E. (Lloyd) Bornt, 89, a resident of Logwoods Road for over 70 years, died peacefully, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
Born in Troy, March 1st, 1927, Marion was the daughter of the late Major and Mildred (Tschumi) Lloyd, and for 59 years, the wife of the late Raymond L. Bornt who predeceased her in 2007.
Marion was a graduate of the Averill Park High School.
As a young woman, she worked at Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Troy as a housekeeper and in later years worked providing light housekeeping and adult home health-care for her neighbors.
Marion was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Raymertown and a former church council member, a member of Town of Pittstown Seniors, (TOPS), and a member of the former Ladies Auxiliary of the Raymertown Volunteer Fire Company. She took pride in raising her children and keeping her home, was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, was a wonderful cook and baker and known for her beautiful pies.
Marion is survived by her children, Deborah Lewis (Thomas Bulson) of Eagle Mills, Cherry Havnen of Watervliet, David and Dawn Bornt of Raymertown, Gerald R. and Sylvia Bornt of Raymertown and Holly and George Milne of Cropseyville, eleven grandchildren, Heather Vooris, Michael Lewis, Leah Malhenzie, Peter Havnen, Adam Bornt, Ryan Bornt, Tressa Bornt, Joseph Bornt, Laura Bornt, Katie Milne and Andrew Milne, nine great-grandchildren, Travis, Bailey, Hunter, Mckenna, Sarah, Julia, Emily, Marley and Warren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Harold, Kenneth and William Lloyd, and a sister, Marjorie Bearder.
A funeral service for Marion will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 2237 NY Route 7, located in Raymertown with Rev. Dave Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Raymertown. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the funeral home from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M.
