Johnsonville, Martin D. Wein, 59, died peacefully at home, Tuesday, August 22, 2023. He was the son of the late Robert D. Wein and Vera M. (Jubic) Wein. Marty is survived by his daughter, Kelsey (Kyle) Mitchell, his son, Christopher Wein, five siblings, Linda (Leo) Chevalier, Robert H. Wein, Vicki (Kevin) Rafferty, David Wein, Andrea (Mike) Davenport, one grandson, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Marty was predeceased by his sister, Sherry A. Wein.
After graduating from Hoosic Valley Central High School in 1983, Marty earned a degree in Graphic Design from Hudson Valley and earned several skill levels in Karate after studying for nine years. He was later employed by Scriven Duplicating Services, Quad Graphics, and Samaritan Hospital. He enjoyed music and especially loved to sing. He was the lead singer in “Nobody’s Business”, “Damn Straight”, and “Black Coffee”. He loved fishing and spending time in reflection at the Tomhannock Reservoir and another favorite past time was watching old westerns on T.V. He was well known for his artistic abilities and some of his artwork is displayed in a local Schaghticoke restaurant. He was always the life of the party and had a terrific sense of humor. He will be missed by many friends and family. We would like to thank everyone who assisted Marty during his illness over the past few years, especially Jeshua Cail for his friendship and caregiving.
Calling hours will be Friday, August 25, 2023 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home, 2237 NY Route 7, Raymertown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 10:00 am at Transfiguration Parish North, 17 South Main Street, in Schaghticoke. Burial will follow at St. John’s cemetery, Schaghticoke.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SPHP at Samaritan Hospital Radiology, 3300 Burdett Avenue, Troy, NY 12180.
