Brunswick- Patricia C. (O’Donnell) Stone, 83, a longtime resident of Brunswick, died peacefully Sunday, February 24, 2091, at her Grange Road home with her daughter by her side following a short illness.
Born July 7, 1935 in Pittstown, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Helen (Teal) O’Donnell and for many years the devoted wife of the late Edwin E. Stone who predeceased her February 28, 1991.
Mrs. Stone was a graduate of Lansingbugh High School, class of 1953.
As a young woman she worked as a clerk at several area retail department stores including the former J.M. Fields in Troy and the former Montgomery Ward and Co.in Menands. After her marriage and working even harder as a stay at home mother until her children were grown, she returned to the workforce and was employed in the environmental department at Samaritan Hospital until retiring in 2008.
Mrs. Stone was a member of the Center Brunswick United Methodist Church and a member of the former Center Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company “Ladies Auxiliary.” In her quiet time she enjoyed sitting outside to visit or enjoying a cookout lunch or dinner with her family and friends that stopped by.
Mrs. Stone is survived by two daughters, Donna Stone (David Eschenbaum)of Brunswick and Darlene Goodermote of Georgia, two sons, Kenneth Stone of Sycaway and Richard Stone of Troy, a step brother, Gary Moore of East Greenbush, thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and late husband, she was predeceased by a son, the late Donald Stone.
A graveside service and committal ceremony will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy with Dea. Daniel McIntyre officiating. There will be no calling.
