Pittstown- Robert C. “Robby” Martinoli, 50, a lifelong resident of Pittstown, died suddenly Monday, June 28, 2021, at Samaritan Hospital following a long illness.
Born in Bennington, VT, December 19, 1970, Robby was the son of the late Robert F. and Rita A. (Luskin) Martinoli and, for over 21 years, the husband of Donna M. (Markiewicz) Martinoli of Pittstown, who survives. Robby and Donna were married July 16, 1999.
Rob was a graduate of Tamarac High School and the Ohio Technical School of Diesel and Mechanics near Cleveland, where he earned a degree as a diesel engine and heavy equipment mechanic.
For over 20 years he worked as a carpenter with his late father, who owned and operated M & M General Contracting Co. in Pittstown until his passing in 2010. Beginning in 2010 he was employed by the Campbell Service and Supply Co., in Pittstown and worked as a mechanic, truck driver, and heavy equipment operator. He retired in 2014.
At the age of 16, Rob became a member of the Pittstown Volunteer Fire Company and held several officer positions, including Captain. More recently he participated as a social member of the company, as illness limited his physical ability for emergency response work.
Rob loved to ride his motorcycle, assist his friends with chores on their farms, including haying and setting up tillage equipment, horseback riding, and was an avid NASCAR fan, cheering for the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. in his day.
In addition to his wife, Rob is survived by his daughter, Renee L. Martinoli of Pittstown, an uncle, Robert Luskin of Pittstown, and several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by maternal and paternal aunts and uncles.
A private funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jim Knapp, pastor of Pittstown U.M.C. and Chaplain of Pittstown Volunteer Fire Co., will be held at the convenience of the family at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY-7, located in Raymertown. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
