
Albany- Ruth Ann “Ruthie” Bornt, 76, a longtime resident of Raymertown and more recently Green Island, died peacefully Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Albany Medical Center following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Raymertown December 21, 1946, Ruth was the daughter of the late Milford E. Bornt Sr. and Ruth F. (Cushman) Bornt and for over 71 years the best friend and “sister” of Sally J. Centanni of Halfmoon, who survives.
Ruth was a graduate of Tamarac High School and was the executive bookkeeper at Community Health Care in Green Island for 39 years. She retired in 2012.
Ruth was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Raymertown, the former Raymertown Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and a devoted friend to many. As a younger lady, she loved to travel to York Beach, Maine, with her family and friends. More recently, she enjoyed playing the slot machines at Atlantic City and the Racino in Saratoga, “dining out” at Hot Dog Charlie’s, and solving word search puzzles.
Ruth is survived by a son, Paul Bornt, four grandchildren, Carrie, Michael, David, and Jeremy, two great grandchildren, Kyler and Colton, her brothers and sisters, Shirley, Harry, Kenneth, Roy, and Emily, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Milford Jr., Carl, Robert, Raymond, Carolyn, and Paul.
A memorial service for Ruth will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at noon at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Raymertown with Rev. Jo Page officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, also in Raymertown. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m.-noon, prior to the memorial service.
