Hoosick Falls- Shirley L. (Griffith) Brenenstuhl, 82, a resident of Pine Valley Road for over 50 years, died surrounded by her family, Thursday, January 5, 2017, at the Centers for Health and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls.
Born in Bellefonte, PA, April 27, 1934, Mrs. Brenenstuhl was the daughter of the late James T. and Mary (Paige) Griffith and the wife of the late Willis W. Brenenstuhl.
Shirley was a graduate of Bellefonte High School. For many years she was the cafeteria manager by the K-Mart Corporation in the Bennington, VT store before retiring in 1997.
Shirley loved to sew and was a talented local seamstress. She performed alterations for J.C. Penny’s and created beautiful clothing for family and friends throughout the years.
In her quiet time, she loved to attend sporting events for her grandchildren and area youths, solve word search puzzles, play video games, watch TV game shows and spend time with her beloved family.
Mrs. Brenenstuhl is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, James E. and Diane Griffith of Cambridge and Steven A. Griffith of Hoosick Falls, three grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica and Jason, James S. and Chalen and Jon and Sara, three great grandchildren, Jordyn, Jacob and Paxton and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings.
A graveside service will be held on April 27, 2017, at 1:00 P.M. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon, Saratoga National Veterans Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. There will be no public calling.
