Poestenkill - Veda E. Vince, 75, formerly of Boyntonville and more recently Main Street, Poestenkill, died peacefully, Monday, March 28, 2022, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy following a brief illness.
Born in Schenectady, January 7, 1947, Veda was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Lillian Vince Zareski.
Raised in Boyntonville, Veda attended the Groveside School and was a graduate of Tamarac High School, Class of 1965.
For 23 years she was employed as an account clerk for the former Union National Bank in Troy and a Patient Registrar at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy. Most recently she was employed as a case examiner by Rensselaer County Department of Child Support Services also in Troy. After more than 14 years of service, Veda retired in 2013.
Veda was a member of the former Boyntonville United Methodist Church, an avid bowler in her younger days, enjoyed taking car rides when she was the driver, and loved to scratch off lottery tickets waiting for her big payday.
Veda is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Donna and Thomas Bissonnette of Ludlow, VT, and Tina Richards of Troy, a maternal uncle, Anthony DiMaggio and life partner Phyllis Rounds and maternal aunt, Marie (Jerry) McAuliffe of Hoosick Falls, three nieces, and many cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside ceremony on May 7th, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Warren Cemetery in Boyntonville.
Contributions in lieu of flowers, if desired, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Veda E. Vince.
