Brunswick – Vickie L. (Krogh) Taylor, 62, a lifelong resident of Brunswick, died peacefully Tuesday morning, October 7th, 2014, with her family by her side, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born in Troy, June 19, 1952, Vickie is the daughter of the late Howard Krogh and Beryl (Brust) Krogh of Brunswick who survives and for over 32 years the beloved wife of James R. Taylor of Brunswick, who also survives. Vickie and Jim were married on October 16, 1981.
Vickie was a graduate of Tamarac High School. Shortly after graduating she was employed for several years by the former Grand Union Supermarket in Brunswick and enjoyed a 33 year career as a postal clerk at the United States Post Office in Latham from which she retired in 2007. Most recently, she was employed for the past 5 years by Debra LaMay Agency, in Malta.
In her quiet time, Vickie found enjoyment with her family and friends. She was a life member of Gilead Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and volunteered at the food pantry. She participated in her sons’ extra-curricular activities including Little League and was a Cub Scouts Leader, later going on to be the “proud mom” of two Eagle Scouts. Vickie loved to bake and care for her home, enjoyed traveling, especially to her “second home”, Maine, and take long rides with Jim, on the back of his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
In addition to her husband and mother, Vickie is survived by two sons, Jason W. Bowman and his partner Christopher Adasiewicz of Brooklyn, and Jeffrey W. Taylor of Troy, her sister and brother-in law, Becky and Anthony Randio of Clifton Park, a maternal aunt and two uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and co-workers.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Gilead Lutheran Church (Intersection of NYS Route 7 and Route 278) in Brunswick with Rev. Stephen Cordes officiating. Burial will follow at Eagle Mills Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Gilead Lutheran Church on Friday, October 10, 2014, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
