Pittstown- Wayne G. Bulson Sr., a longtime area resident and self-employed contractor, died peacefully Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy following a brief illness.
Born in the Maplewood neighborhood of Watervliet, July 16, 1937, Wayne was the son of the late Ira E. and Edith (Zeller) Bulson and, for over 65 years, the devoted husband of Gloria (Van Buren) Bulson of Pittstown, who survives. Wayne and Gloria were married on July 1, 1956.
Mr. Bulson attended Troy High School. From a young age he enjoyed carpentry and woodworking and turned that passion into a 60+ year career as a self-employed contractor and owner of Wayne G. Bulson and Son Contracting LLC in Pittstown. In addition to having built his own home in Grafton and relocating to the residence he built for his wife and himself in Pittstown in 1997, he helped to build his son’s and daughter’s homes, as well as many others in the area.
In his quiet time he enjoyed the hobbies of woodworking and working in his shop, going to camp in the summer months with his family, and driving his 1964 T-Bird, his 1937 Plymouth, and his Ford T-bucket.
Wayne was a member of the White Church (Brunswick Presbyterian) and a supporter of the Raymertown Volunteer Fire Company and the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps.
In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Frank Berard, and a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne “Greg” and Valerie Bulson Jr., all of Pittstown, four grandchildren, Frank Berard Jr. and Tiffany Swan of Pittstown, Laura and William LeQue of Pittstown, Wayne G. and Shana Bulson III of Hawaii, and Jason Bulson and Desiree Maxon of Pittstown, three grandchildren, Shyanne and Zachariah Bulson of Hawaii and Emily Marie LeQue and Christian Maxon, of Pittstown, five brothers and sisters, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Howard B. Tate and Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY-7, located in Raymertown. Burial will take place in Eagle Mills Cemetery in Brunswick. There will be no public calling.
