
Malta- William “Randy” Ridler, 72, formerly of Brunswick, died peacefully Saturday, September 2, 2023, in the comfort of his home after a long illness.
Born in Charleston, SC, Randy was the son of the late John and Florence (Faile) Ridler and the brother and brother-in-law of Barbara and Gary Graham and Judith and John Zlotnick who survive.
Randy was a graduate of Tamarac High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army Reserve.
Randy was employed as a production worker by General Electric at the Schenectady facility. After 39 years of service, he retired in 2011.
Randy was a gifted woodworker building furniture and restoring his home. His many interests included restoring vintage cars and trucks. He enjoyed collecting and building all types of models and art, mostly automotive and agricultural, but also early Americana and Amish wood crafts. Randy enjoyed his home, watching nature in his back yard with the companionship of his faithful English bulldogs throughout his life.
Randy is also survived by two nieces and nephews, Lisa Overocker, Jeff Graham, Brian Graham, and Jessica Zlotnick, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Howard B. Tate and Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 New York Route 7, located in Raymertown. Burial at Memory Gardens in Colonie will be private at the convenience of the family.
